Discover Madeira’s wine culture on a full-day tour that takes you beyond Funchal and into the island’s main wine regions. This experience combines vineyard visits, guided tastings, and scenic routes, offering a deeper understanding of Madeira wine, its production, and its history.
Throughout the day, you will visit selected producers and taste both Madeira’s iconic fortified wines and its increasingly recognized still wines, including white and red varieties. The tour also includes a traditional lunch, creating a well-balanced experience that blends wine, food, and local context.
Madeira wine is one of the most enduring man-made products in the world, with bottles that can last for centuries. Its history spans more than 500 years and remains closely tied to the identity of the island. While fortified wine is its most famous expression, Madeira’s still wines offer a different perspective on the region’s diversity.
During the tour, you will follow the journey of wine from vineyard to glass, gaining insight into the techniques, climate, and traditions that shape each style.
The experience also includes a scenic exploration of the island, with views across both the south and north coasts. Along the way, you will pass through the Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and visit areas such as Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, São Vicente, and Seixal.
With small groups of up to 12 participants, the tour maintains a more personal and engaging atmosphere, allowing for closer interaction with guides and producers.
This is a well-paced experience that combines wine, landscape, and local knowledge, ideal for those who want to explore Madeira through its traditions and flavours.
